Iya Khalil

Iya Khalil, Ph.D. is a technology entrepreneur and physicist with a vision for transforming medicine into a quantitative, predictive, and patient-centric discipline by applying big data analytics.

Dr. Khalil is the co-founder of two big data companies, Via Science and GNS Healthcare, and is the co-inventor of the proprietary computational engine that underpins both entities. As executive vice president of GNS Healthcare, she leads collaborations with healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, foundations, and government agencies, focusing on applications in drug discovery and development, and on treatment algorithms that can be applied at the point of care.

A go-to resource for a range of analysts and journalists, Dr. Khalil is frequently invited to speak at industry events and conferences. She trained in theoretical physics at Cornell University, and several peer-reviewed journals have published her work.

President Obama recognized Dr. Khalil as a pioneer in genomic medicine during a 2013 White House dinner.
