Matt Karls

Matt manages strategic investing and supporting the growth of Direct Health Solutions portfolio companies that align with Cambia’s Cause and support enabling providers to align incentives to achieve better outcomes, strengthen patient-provider relationships, and support seniors and their families as they address the challenges associated with aging.

Matt joined Cambia in 2012, bringing with him 15 years of experience leading teams in corporate development, strategy and operating functions across companies in the health care, telecommunications, and software development industries. Most recently, Matt was manager of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s corporate development team, charged with leading execution of mergers, acquisitions and strategic investments.

Matt earned his Masters of Business Administration in Management from Michigan State University, and his Bachelor’s in Economics from Western Michigan University. He serves as a director on the boards of Caremerge and True Link Financial, and is a board observer for Lively, all Cambia’s Direct Health Solutions portfolio companies. As an enthusiastic supporter of entrepreneurship, Matt is also a mentor for several early stage companies and accelerator programs.

Matt is based out of Cambia’s Portland, Oregon office.
